Returned from Polo Towers end of June 06. Excellent staff. Tower II. Great location. Unit was clean, well maintained, beyond expectation (from pix on web). They are upgrading all units. Got to see model unit. Very very nice. NO hassle whatever. Pool was small but adequate. Really hot but the air conditioning was fine. Great timeshare; great location. No problems. Looking forward to our next trip.

Dec 26, 2010-Jan 2, 2011 stay! Excellent place to stay. We spent New Year in Vegas and everything is great. Place is clean and reception are very helpful although the hotel is really busy. Great place if you have a family and wanted to avoid the casino. The place is in the strip so everything is accessible - food, gambling, shopping and great shows too.

I'll try to be as objective as possible even though I know this isn't possible given the fact that everyone's reference points for standards in hotels are different. That being said, I travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, and my standards are pretty high, i.e. Ritz Carlton, etc.

      1. I arrived late in the evening. The check-in took a little extra time as I upgraded the reserved Studio Unit to a 1BR unit for an extra nightly fee of $30. A check list was provided for the items that I should find in the room. So I spent the next morning doing an inventory of the entire unit. It's a faith based system but they are only concerned about more expensive items, i.e. blender, toaster oven, etc. I was never told this when I checked in. Had I been told this I wouldn't have bothered doing a complete inventory. I would have only checked on those particular items, of which there were few in that category. I stayed in the Villas side of the building. The towels were not particularly plush but the bed sheets and pillows offered were very nice. Two LCDS, one in the living room and one in the bedroom were nice also, as were the DVD players, iPod linked stereos, etc. The 1BR unit has a central CAC unit both in the bedroom and the living room. I only needed to use the living room unit as the noise that the unit created in the bedroom when it would cycle off and on was disruptive to my sleep. Suffice it to say that one unit was sufficient to keep the place pleasant.

      2. Room was clean and the kitchen was completely furnished for anyone who wishes to cook.

      3. Cleaning of the room was a hit or miss. But that was mostly due to my late night, early morning returns and putting the "do not disturb card" on the door so I could sleep later than usual. In general, they exchange towels, empty the trash and make the bed every day. Every 4th day they are supposed to do a thorough cleaning. However, I discovered that this wasn't as thorough as one might expect. As a an example, and I'm a very clean person, I could take a shower, walk around the apartment bare footed and go right back to the shower and my feet would make the tub filthy. The carpets either need to be shampooed and/or the floors need to be scrubbed. I could never figure this out as the unit looked very clean. This happened in two different units in two different weeks.

      4. No free internet in the room unless your room is close to the Marriott and you can pick up their signal. Interesting, the Marriott gives its clients free internet but Polo Towers only gives free internet to their Diamond Resorts Members. I was very disappointed in this given the fact that so many hotels are going the way of offering free internet. If free internet is that important, you can join DR for thousands of dollars or pay the $35/week internet fee. Alternatively, Polo does have a business center with 3 computers for use and they are free. Although, when I was there, one of the printers would not work. But that can happen anywhere.

      5. Swimming Pool and the surrounding pool area were great. I wished they would leave the pool open 24 x 7 but they close at 10pm. Many times I would come back to the hotel late and I would have loved to have been able to take a dip in the pool.

      6. When you check into your room, I would recommend unplugging all the phones and only connecting them if you need to use them. Why? Because the Concierge and Sales depts would call the room in the early morning hours, around 9am each morning. And because I wasn't getting back to my unit until the morning hours. And I was sleeping late, the calls would wake me. In short, it was nusance and they should ask you if you want to be bothered with these types of phone calls. The second time this happened, I unplugged the phones.

      7. I was disappointed that the photo of the lounge is from the past. They shut it down some time ago. It was located on the Strip side of the building at the Penthouse level. And it would have been a great place to have an occassional drink. Oh well.... Also, no restaurant or coffee shop. Sometimes I find it nice to go out for a cup of coffee rather than stay inside. You can get a cup of coffee in the food market on the first floor but it's no Starbucks.

      8. Elevators were pretty dependable and there were 3 of them, although a bit slow.

      9. Location is great.

      10. Whenever I called housekeeping or maintenance, they always responded quickly and resolved my request or need immediately. The hotel also does follow up phone calls to make sure the issue was resolved. I give Polo HIGH MARKS for this policy.

      11. Everyone I ran into in POLO were friendly. Good client base.

      12. Polo offers shuttle vans on various days for different things. Grocery shopping, outlet malls, etc. If you sign up in time, you can be sure to get your name on their list. Great FREE service.

      13. No library/reading room. Sometimes I find it relaxing to go to a designated library to read. And it's a great way to meet new people also. Yes, there's the pool. But it's not quite the same.

      14. They do have free use of washing machines and dryers on different floors. Great idea! However, I found the washing machines to be of such low caliber in terms of their washing ability that I took my clothes else where. They simply would not clean the clothes. A design problem in my humble opinion. The dryers work well.

      15. Taxi and Bell Captain Service was also good.

      16. Playerless piano in the lobby was a nice touch.

      17. As I said, I stayed in a 1BR unit. But before leaving, I asked to see a studio unit. And I have to be perfectly honest, it's the smallest hotel room that I've ever seen. In fact, I think I'd go stir crazy if I were to stay in one of the studios either alone or with someone. It's just too tiny for any real comfort. You would not look forward to going back to your room if you were in a studio. That's just my opinion. And the bed is a murphy bed. So I can't imagine it's all that comfortable.

      17. Checking out was easy.

In closing, I had the opportunity to meet with one the POLO Towers management team members to review my stay prior to leaving. And I pretty much told her everything that I've said here. She seemed extremely interested in what I had to say. So don't be surprised if some of disappointments that I've mentioned here have been rectified by the time you stay there. What they lack in 5 star amenities, they try to make up with friendly customer service. But don't forget, they are in business. And they look for ways to get you down to the concierge's desk to "talk up" attending the Diamond Resorts presentations for free gifts, etc.

I think I've been fair in my assessment. I would never go in the summer months again. The heat is attrocious.

This is a great place to stay. It is conveniently located on the strip with free valet parking as well as free garaged parking. The place is extremely luxurious and the staff are eager to provide good service. We stayed in a two bedroom with another couple and split the rental of a car. We bought frozen appetizers and scotch we enjoyed each evening before dinner sitting in the living room with the fabulous view of the strip. We also saved money by cooking our breakfast with the full kitchen. There is a half price ticket booth in front of the resort. We got half price tickets to shows and half price coupons for dinner. It was a very economical, but luxurious vacation.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom in one of the renovated suites in Tower 1. The place is elegantly appointed with LCD televisions in each room. There is a full kitchen in the 1 bedroom portion which was perfect for the family. The studio side has a microwave, sink, and fridge. The pool on the roof is good since you get a nice view around you.

For families with smaller children there is a water play park. There is a 1 foot deep pool with a shower in the midst and a place to run around with squirting fountains. Kids will love this.

By far the best thing about the Polo Towers is the location. It is steps away from Planet Hollywood (formerly the Aladdin) as well as the MGM. Surrounding the property are the Marriott Grand Chateau as well as some other condominium projects. The location is perfect. As far as food is concerned there is the Hawaiian marketplace adjacent to the property and there are many food choices available.

This is a great place to stay and I look forward to our next trip here.

What a great location just off the strip .. but what a disappointing experience. We knew we weren't in for much trading for an efficeiency unit, but how much time will you spend in the room anyway??

We checked out the room and found the murphy bed was as hard as a rock, the pillows were flat and hard as well. Asked the staff for a different room for 3 straight days and was told no.. even though their marquee blared "units available" on the strip. In fact the only staff that was even friendly here was the bell hop when you first get there and the concierge who is in charge of selling you a timeshare at the marriott next door.

We asked housekeeping for softer pillows and it took 2 days to get them.. then they took them back the next day and returned the hard flat ones. Since there is absolutely nothing at this "resort", and sleeping here was all I expected to do, it would have been great to at least have a quality mattress and pillows. Apparently the maintenance fees don't cover these items.

We paid to stay at a decent hotel just up the street so that we could finally get a decent nights rest after 4 days at the villas at polo.

If you want to experience the furnishings at this place before you trade, stop at any motel along any highway, if you like the motel you'll love the villas at polo.

Location, Location, Location! That is what this timeshare has!! Its right on the strip and so close to everything including all the new construction at City Center, The MGM, The new Cosmopolitan hotel and casino and the Bellagio!! We walked everywhere and saved ourselves having to have a car!

It was spacious, and we were staying in the second bedroom, while our cousins had the main bedroom. The entire unit held 8 of us and was fine!! It had recently been renovated and the view was terrific!!

The fully stocked kitchen was fine including all the supplies you would need. You can ask housekeeping for soap or other type products and they provided it. We had a unit in tower one and found everything to our liking!! The location is fabulous, easy in and out access, easy access to cabs and the view was fabulous.

The fitness center and the new marketplace right next to the main entry is convenient and puts to shame other fitness centers at the major hotels.

We had a barbeque on the roof top pool and lounged on the comfortable lounges while enjoying delicious food and libations.

I bought at this resort after owning at others and like it just fine!!

In Las Vegas, we usually stay at one of the nicer casino resorts. We needed to rooms so decided to trade a Grand Mayan week and did for Polo Towers.

It was hard to get a sense of what this facility really was like online but we did our trade anyway and regret that we did so.

Not only did it not measure equally to Grand Mayan, we found it less quality than others we have stayed at. It is one of the older time shares in Las Vegas and although it has a great location, the building is getting tired.

Renovations are being made and the unit we had, had been updated. The big issue was that we found the staff (except for the valets) really uncooperative.

It is not something we would do again but maybe our expecations are too high.

Stayed April 15th - April 19th 2007. Rooms were clean, but outdated. Shower was excellent but towel bar was busted. Housekeeping would not re-stock Coffee! Polo has permanently closed the Bar on the 19th Floor! You are wecome to walk across the parking lot to the Mariott's Rooftop bar (38th floor), but seating is limited and there's no view unless your standing up right next to the edge. Overall a pleasant stay, but Polo needs to update their rooms and re-open the bar!

I've stayed at least once a year for the last five years, most recently New Year's this year. Building-1 has the best view of the strip, but the rooms are getting a little old. They are a 4*, but 5* if you request a remodeled unit. Building-3 Suites are 5*+, but the view is not as exciting. Balconies make a nice place to view the action, and they were safe for kids to see fireworks at New Years. We could see the Bellagio fountains from our rooms, and it was an easy walk to MGM for the shows. It is hard to find a bad restaurant in Vegas. Smith & Wollinski's Steak house next door is spendy, but awesome. PF-Chang’s Chinese just up the Street at the Aladdin is also convenient. Not great food, but the kids loved McDonald’s right next to the steak house. The kids also enjoyed the M&M World, movie theaters, and arcade right next door. They were also delighted with the roof top pool. Shopping in the Aladdin Desert Passage right next door is enjoyable if you must. Getting to Polo is an easy (sobering) walk back from the largest and nicest casinos. You could easily take a cab from the airport, and everything is so convenient you won’t need a car for the rest of the week. You would need the extra cab ride to golf Rio Secco. The strip may offer slightly better 5* hotel rooms for $250+ night, but you can’t beat this location or the balcony views.

This sounds like one of those obnoxious salesmen, but it is truly a fun place to visit.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION: I have stayed there twice and you can't beat it as the best location on the strip of ANY timeshare.

2007 will bring complete renovation and redecoration of all the suites. Most units available for rent are at $100-150 per night for a 1 or 2 bedroom suite, in Vegas, on the strip!)

Also, MGM has broken ground across the street (after tearing down the Boardwalk Hotel & Casino) to develop what will be the largest Hotel/Casino/Condo development in the world with a price tag of $15-billion! It will have an international theme similar to the United Nations Towers in New York with a large circular plaza for international shopping and dining.

After the renovation and new MGM hotel complex across the street are completed, things for Polo Towers will only get better!

Although we've stayed at both the Polo Suites and the Villas over the past years, most of the Suites are greatly in need of updating. We were there this week, and the plumbing worked marginally; the furnishings are old, as are the appliances. [Unfortunately, while the Villas are newer, they have poor views when compared to the Suites.]

So unless you're guaranteed an updated unit, I'd consider looking elsewhere.

Just spent the last week of Feb.'06 on 6th floor of Tower III. Air conditioning unit makes a lot of noise as it turns on /off during the night. Also, they empty the dumpsters every morning around 6am which is guaranteed to wake you up. Units are fine, cleaning and front desk services are excellent. Can't beat the location. Would certainly stay there again but request a different tower.

Plans in the works for makeover of the "suites" - they are fine as is for the moment, but WILL need the renovation in the near future to maintain high ratings. You would enjoy a stay here, just avoid the Marriott "marketers". Am going to consider purchasing a resale unit here.

Only problem was the air conditioner shut down after 4 days and we had to change rooms. A big hassle and the front desk was not friendly and/or helpful. The second room was fine and the air worked well. One word of carution...CONSTRUCTION. Right in front on the strip and in the back on a new high rise. We were first in Tower I and the noise started around 1am and continued all night. We moved to Tower II and it was much quieter. Regardless, the place is nice and the price was fantastic. All in all, I would stary there again.

Have stayed here three times in relatives' condo-- sometimes with them, sometimes without. They own two weeks, one in oldest tower; one in newest. Both have two bedrooms, two baths. Old tower is a lockout and the small side is very small--murphy bed, full bath, partial kitchen with small fridge, microwave, coffeemaker. The other side is nice sized with large tv and full kitchen. The decor is older style and about ready for new furniture, and there is no washer/dryer in the unit--you have to go down the hall.

New tower is elegantly furnished, not spacious but quite adequate. As noted by someone else--you don't go to Vegas to sit in the room. Both condos beat the heck out of a hotel.

The top floor lounge has one of the best scenic views in Vegas, and they play Bingo there once a week--cards are a dollar, and free refreshments--nice prizes The first time we played, I won nearly all the prizes, so had a really great time.

The pool is on top of the building and is okay, but not heated. We went in Oct/Nov, so it was too cool for me.

The lounge is really nice and comfortable to sit and visit. The valet people are super, and some of the desk clerks--others are as stated somewhere else-snotty and not helpful.

The best thing is the location--on the strip, but set back so the noise doesn't get to you. We like the Alladin, and it is just down the street. We always drive out, so had a car to go out t the station casinos. However, there are taxis, the overhead el, streetcar/buses.

I much prefer Polo to staying in huge hotels where you walk miles to get to your room, then miles back to do anything.

Just returned from week stay at Polo Towers. Check in was a real hassel. Wanted to see room before we accepted it. Girl was a real snott, as she could not understand this. We looked at three rooms to get one that was acceptable. She made us wait, and store luggage, a real control thing on her part. We traded a 5 star resort for this place, and wanted a room kind of comparable. This did not happen. Carpets torn and spotted, ragged. Furnishings worn and spotted. Bathrooms was alittle dirty. Location was a plus. Lobby was real nice. Could not stay in tower 3 , new section was saved for buyers. Would rate this resort a 5. Would not stay here again. Would stay in a Nearby Hotel. II rates this a 5 star which is very misleading!!!!!!!!!!! Overall, nothing could be further from the truth. Two of the three sections of this resort, towers 1 and 2, the rooms are absolutely auwful and would say its 2 or 3 stars. While clean, quality of furnishings and fixtures were motel6esque. The third tower was redone in 2000 is where the 5 star probably comes from. The main amenity of this resort is its location on the south central part of the strip, close to everything on the strip. The pool area is small and has none of the typical resort services. The 19th floor lounge has a nice view of the strip. Lobby is very nice. *********BE CAREFUL, IF YOU ARE TRADING FROM A FIVE STAR RESORT AND YOU WANT TO BE IN THIS LOCATION, MAKE SURE YOU TRADE INTO TOWER THREE OR YOU WILL BE VERY DISSAPPOINTED********** We got into tower three, but that was after my insistance and luck that they had available units.

We stayed at the Suites at Polo Towers during a convention, July 23-30. I was not impressed with the bland, out-dated decor. The kitchen was well stocked but did not have dish washing detergent for the sink; everything had to go in the dishwasher. Our sofa bed was lumpy and uncomfortable and the towels were extremely worn and rough. The housekeeping staff and bellmen were friendly and helpful. The front desk staff was okay but did not go out of their way to make you feel welcome.

Location is wonderful but to get a cab is difficult.

A Marriott Timeshare is being built near the Towers and I would buy at that location.

We stayed at the Villas at Polo Towers, which is the newer section of Polo Towers. Mixed feelings about this resort. Location: Its location right on the Strip is exceptionally convenient--you are close to everything and all the major casinos. Unit/kitchen amenities: Beautifully decorated--one of the best we've seen. However, the unit size (in our case 2 BR/2 BA lockout) is exceedingly small--900 SF. There is no way we would have stayed in this resort with another adult couple--they would have felt too cramped in the lockout portion. Bed is a Murphy bed, that while cleverly done, takes up nearly the whole room when let down. Children would be fine. There is another Murphy in the living room, which would pose another big space problem if let down. Kitchen is nice, with all amenities expected, to include coffee filters (hooray!)and salt and pepper (hooray again)

There is only one couch in the living room--an odd kidney shaped deal that while attractive, would not seat more than three people comfortably. Other guests would be relegated to the dining table which seats four. Master bed is a king which was quite good.

BIG PROBLEM: temperature settings are pre- set at 72 degrees. Thanks to tip from others, we knew that one could request manual control. So we stuck to our guns when the front desk insisted they could do nothing, and lo and behold, the next day maintenance took care of it! I cannot stress enough that management doesn't like to do this, and they will give you the run-around--you must INSIST EMPHATICALLY!

Pool area was very small but clean. It is on the roof (22nd floor)and there is no escaping the sun except inside five stuffy cabanas which block any breeze, since they are closed on 3 sides. There was no drink service or cafe at the pool. Disappointing.

Staff service was spotty--maintenance was superb, front desk was understaffed. Valet car- park was excellent. There is also a very large outdoor self-parking area. Construction is ongoing, but the Villas portion was unaffected- -not so the Polo Towers section, third floor in particular. Once again, thanks to "insider" tip, we knew to ask for a unit away from the dumpsters, which they did indeed empty every morning at the crack of dawn. Pity the folks who had to listen to THAT every day!

The resort is literally BUSING people in to sell timeshares, and the groups clomping through the common areas were slightly annoying. However, if you listen to their spiel, they will give you tickets to either the Folies Bergere (classic showgirl review, and topless in spots) or the excellent "V" show at the Venetian which is a variety show with magic, acrobats, comedy, jugglers, etc.(no nudity but some risque humor that young children will not understand but your eenagers WILL!) (Tip: don't "upgrade" your seats when asked at the Venetian theatre. The "cheap seats" are perfectly fine, and offer an excellent view as it is a smallish theatre. Upgrading will cost you extra $$$) We had agreed to a presentation, but after being kept waiting for 15 minutes, we left. We were impressed when they called our room and gave us tickets anyway!

The resort is lacking many of the things that 5- star resorts normally have, but the location makes up for A LOT. Vegas is a little different, and let's face it, the attraction is the gambling, night-life and fabulous restaurants.

The locations is excellent...the view from the 19th floor bar is breathtaking. Especially when the fountain show is occurring at The Belagio. We ended up taking our rental car back, because there were so many shuttles and the location was close to many of the big name casinos.

It was also very quiet. We slept well, not hearing the sounds of the strip or our neighbors. The rooms were also spacious and set up well for our week long stay.

Staff was exceptional, except for the Concierge. Not very knowledgeable, or just not unable to utlilize their resources.

Location, Location, Location!!! Polo sits mid- strip within walking distance to most of the big new casinos, shopping and dining. The suites are well maintained and the staff is excellent. If visiting Vegas this is the place to stay.

Polo Towers deserve 5* rating mainly because of prime location on the strip and a variety of facilities offered. The courtesy of the staff is exemplary. There is a free shuttle service to several hotels that are not within easy walking distance.
